2025 Ather 450 Incoming: Here’s What It Could Be Capable Of

Ever since Ather Energy launched the Ather 450 electric scooter, it has set benchmarks in the EV category and has been loved by performance enthusiasts all over the country. The 450’s exhilarating performance coupled with its amazing ride and handling capabilities has earned it the ‘Bike of Scooters’ tag - a trait that continues to this day! With the 2025 Ather 450 launch right around the corner, we are mighty excited that it may bring about the new features and performance updates that appeal to  performance 2-wheeler enthusiasts like us.

In fact, Ather has just given the world a glimpse of what the 2025 Ather 450 will truly be capable of in its pre-launch teasers and it looks like the upcoming 450 is going to show off its capabilities by taking on a slew of insane challenges. Dubbed as ‘Track Attack’, all of these challenges and more will be revealed on 4th January 2025!

From what we know, the Ather 450 will be squaring off against two very different petrol-powered rivals - a performance oriented 160cc motorcycle and a 125cc ICE scooter in the performance segment. All three machines will be pushed to their limits as they negotiate and try to better each other through a varied set of challenges - possibly even including some off-road action as well as a straight-up drag race! 

What makes the Ather 450 the ‘Bike of Scooters’?

The Ather 450 truly takes its ‘Bike of Scooters’ tag quite seriously and in doing so, makes it one of the most fun-to-ride 2-wheelers in India today. First of course is the motorsport inspired design , which makes it perfect for performance riding. The sporty yet comfortable riding ergonomics really makes the scooter stand out. To add to that, the Ather 450 has lots of performance on offer. The electric motor puts out 26Nm of torque, which is delivered instantly. In terms of real world performance, this gives the e-scooter a 0-40kmph timing in  just 2.9s!

Usually scooters get a dual shock absorber setup at the rear, which is decent. But when it comes to performance riding, this might not be enough. The Ather 450 has a monoshock, which is something that we see in performance sports bikes and offers better stability at higher speeds than a regular dual-shock setup. 

Another big advantage the Ather 450 has is its dual disc brake setup. This  greatly enhances  the scooter’s braking performance. Compared to other scooters in the market, which run a single disc setup or a dual-drum one, the Ather 450 offers much better braking performance at higher speeds.

The Ather 450 has always been packed with smart features like the full-fledged on-dash navigation via Google Maps and WhatsApp integration, bluetooth connectivity which allows for call and music control  along with features such as Find my scooter, reverse mode and AutoHold.
