2025 KTM 390 Adventure S will launch tomorrow in India, as per the brand’s social media handles. The motorcycle has created a hype like none other and is expected to change the ADV segment in its favour.
The KTM 390 Adventure S has a very nuanced design which is evident through the new vertically stacked dual LED headlights surrounded by LED DRL. The high-mounted front fender along with the tall windscreen gives it a very touring friendly and offroad-focused approach. The revamped design continues on the side as well. Sharp tank extensions, a long single-piece seat which extends onto the tank and a wide handlebar gives the bike a very modern look. The rear has received some changes as well with the most evident being a slimmer tail section which results in a smaller seating area for the pillion.
The 390 Adventure S will receive the same power plant as the 3rd generation 390 Duke which makes 46PS and 39Nm. Though KTM might change the gear ratios and sprocket sizes to allow the 390 Adventure S to have a better low end. This is something which the previous generation 390 Adventure lacked. The engine will be paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch with a bidirectional quickshifter.
The bike gets a brand-new chassis and subframe, new swingarm and long-travel suspension which is adjustable at both ends. The bike will get a 21/17-inch tubeless spoke wheels setup which will increase practicality and the ease of repairing punctures. The bike made its India debut at India Bike Week 2024. This revealed a crucial aspect as the seat height is marginally lower when compared to the current 390 Adventure and has a narrow mid-section as well.
The new KTM 390 Adventure S will have tons of features which is something the previous generation 390 Adventure also had. It gets the same 5-inch TFT display which we have seen on the 390 Duke. Traction control modes, ABS modes, riding modes, cornering ABS, smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth which allows for call & SMS alerts, turn-by-turn navigation and music control are the features it gets. The 390 Adventure S also gets a new feature in the form of cruise control which will make the bike a better tourer than it already was.
The 390 Adventure S will command a premium over the outgoing 390 Adventure which is priced at Rs 3,64,142 (ex-showroom, Delhi). We expect it to be priced at Rs 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The 390 Adventure S will go against the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 despite having a big price difference. For a difference of over Rs 50,000, you get a lighter, more powerful and a more feature dense motorcycle. But as to how the motorcycle actually is to ride, we will get to know that once we have our hands on it.
