Quick Highlights

  • The 2025 Speed Triple 1200 RS has been launched internationally

  • Gets a big bump in terms of performance & a weight reduction

  • Also gets active suspension with this update

The 2025 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS has been launched internationally. The bike has undergone a lot of changes in terms of performance, features and underpinnings. The bike is now a lot more powerful than before, and gets some much needed features that have made it a lot more competitive.

The first change that has to be highlighted is of course the bump in performance. The 2025 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS is powered by the same 1160cc, liquid-cooled, three-cylinder engine. The engine now outputs 183PS at 10,750rpm and 128Nm at 8,750rpm. Compared to the previous generation Triumph Speed Triple, this is a bump of 3PS and 3Nm.

When the Triumph Rocket 3 Storm R and Rocket 3 Storm R GT were launched, the Speed Triple 1200 was dethroned from its position as the most powerful Triumph bike. Now with this 2025 update, the Speed Triple 1200 has regained its position.

With the 2025 update, the bike’s ergonomics has also been revised. Triumph has given it a wider handlebar, which is also slightly raised. This will make it a lot more comfortable compared to the currently available Triumph Speed Triple.

Along with this, the bike has also got a new electronically adjustable Öhlins 43mm inverted fork and an Öhlins monoshock. The suspension setup uses an  electronic compression and rebound damping system.

This system works on Triumph’s Objective Based Turning Interface (OBTi) which adjusts the suspension settings based on the rider’s preference. This should  make a difference when riding in the real world, helping in improving the ride quality, cornering and acceleration performance.

Other than this, the bike has also got a lot more new electronic riding aids. The new electronic riding aids include a fully-adjustible cruise control system, engine braking control, wheelie control, and also  multi-level ABS settings.

With these changes, the bike has become a lot more competitive when compared to its rivals. We expect the 2025 Speed Triple 1200 to come to India soon, with a premium of around Rs 2 lakh over the current Speed Triple 1200. The Speed Triple 1200 for perspective comes at a price of Rs 18,25,000 (ex-showroom).
