The C3 Aircross is the carmakers second SUV after C5 Aircross and the only one with three-row seating in its segment

French carmaker Citroen, recently announced the introductory prices for the C3 Aircross SUV, which starts at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV had recently arrived at dealerships across the country, and if you're considering a purchase, here are three unique aspects it brings to the compact SUV segment.

Three Row Seating

If you are amongst the ones who prefer your compact SUV to have an extra row for your kids or pooches,  you should check out the C3 Aircross SUV. It is offered in India with an option for three-row seating. Customers can configure their C3 Aircross as a 5-seater or a 7-seater model to suit their needs.

All other compact SUVs such as Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara are offered only as a 5-seater.

Larger and Flexible Boot

The Citroen C3 Aircross’ boot, at 511 litres, is the largest boot in its segment, but with a catch. With all three rows up in three-door version, the trunk is almost non-existent at 44 litres. However, the last row can be removed, opening it upto 511 litres. Furthermore, folding the second-row seats allows for upto 839 litres of boot space.

While the C3 Aircross scores high on flexibility and practicality, its features list is only basic.

Highlights include  a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, manual AC, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, steering-mounted audio controls, electrically operated ORVMs, and roof-mounted AC vents with adjustable blower speed for second and third-row passengers.

In terms of safety, it includes dual airbags, electronic stability control, and rear parking sensors with a camera for added peace of mind.

Rivals offer premium features such as a sunroof, automatic climate control or a branded sound system.

The Citroen C3 Aircross will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, VW Taigun and Maruti Grand Vitara. It also serves as a compelling alternative to MPVs such as the Maruti Ertiga, XL6, and Kia Carens.
