The highly anticipated Tata Altroz Racer is just around the corner and is expected to launch within a few weeks. The sportier rendition of the Altroz hatchback is going to pack in a lot of features and some extra performance to make it a suitable contender against the only other mass market “hot” hatchback in India – the Hyundai i20 N Line. In this article, we have curated a list of features it could get over the i20 N Line:
As per the version of the Altroz Racer which was showcased at the Bharat Mobility show last year, it is expected to get a heads-up display which the Hyundai i20 N Line misses out on.
With the inclusion of the new 10.25-inch infotainment screen, which has been borrowed from the new Tata products like the Nexon, the Altroz Racer is anticipated to get a 360 degree camera setup with parking sensors both at the back and the front. The i20 N Line makes do with just a rear view parking camera..
The rising temperatures across the country have made ventilated seats a highly desirable feature. The Racer version of the Altroz could see the addition of ventilated front seats to its list of cabin comforts. However, Hyundai does not offer this feature on anything below the Creta compact SUV.

Tata is also going to offer the Altroz Racer with a fully digital driver’s display, but it’s not as premium as the one seen on the Nexon. Meanwhile, the i20 N Line features a partial digital instrument cluster which looks one step behind in terms of the premium experience.
The Hyundai i20 N Line is powered by a 1-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 120 PS and 172 Nm. It can be had with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. On the contrary, the Altroz Racer will feature a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit borrowed from the Nexon which produces 120 PS and 170 Nm, which is identical to the power figures of the i20 N Line. Further, it is expected to get a 6-speed manual and a dual-clutch automatic transmission upon launch.
With these additions made to the Altroz Racer, how do you think it sizes up against the Hyundai i20 N Line? Let us know.
