Citroen has finally given us a proper look at the C3 Aircross, and we bring you the images from the media event for a 360-degree look at the SUV. The C3 Aircross is based on a platform shared with the C3 hatchback, and will be a rival to compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta and Toyota Hyryder.
Here’s a closer look at the SUV:
Don’t think the C3 hatchback-derived underpinnings make the C3 Aircross a small SUV. At 4.3 metres long, it’s on par with the Hyundai Creta.
At the front, the C3 Aircross has large, split headlights with LED DRLs that resemble the C3’s units. The SUV’s grille is gloss black, with the Citroen logo placed at the centre. Lower down, there’s a large lower grille flanked by fog lights.

Over on the sides, the C3 Aircross has a tall-riding SUV stance with a long rear overhang. It looks rugged with its silver roof rails and black plastic cladding on the sides and wheel arches. The 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels look perfect for an SUV of this size and give the SUV a healthy 200mm ground clearance.
The rear end features a pleasing, boxy design with squarish wraparound taillights and an upright tailgate. Lower down, the number plate holder is on the bumper, which also gets a faux skid plate.
Overall, the C3 Aircross SUV has a clean, clutter-free aesthetic with plenty of design flair. Its long, swept-back stance and upright bonnet give the C3 Aircross a proper SUV posture that resembles the larger C5 Aircross SUV more than the carmaker’s hatchback.
Step inside the C3 Aircross and its dashboard will instantly remind you of the C3 hatch with its centre trim piece and air vent design. The SUV feels more premium with its black-beige interior colour scheme and materials.
The second row benefits from a roof-mounted AC vent with fan speed settings. The seat itself has a 70-30 split and the smaller seat can be tumbled forward to allow people to get into the third row.
We say “people”, but the third-row seat is best for children. The seat headrests almost extend to the tailgate, but on the plus side, the third-row seats have a 50-50 split and can be folded flat into the floor or removed completely if you need boot space. The C3 Aircross will also be offered as a five seater with 511 litres of boot space.
The C3 Aircross gets a 10.2-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (same as the C3 hatch) alongside a fully digital driver’s display.
Other features include manual AC, steering-mounted audio controls, auto-folding rear view mirrors, multiple airbags, stability control and a rear parking camera.
Under the bonnet, the C3 Aircross will get a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The C3 Aircross will be a rival for the aforementioned Creta and Hyryder compact SUVs, and with its three-row configuration, an alternative to people movers such as the Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens as well.
