September is shaping up to be as exciting as August, packed with major launches from brands like Tata, Hyundai, and MG. But that’s not all, as Mercedes-Benz is set to make waves with its first all-electric Maybach SUV in India.There’s a lot more headed your way in September, let’s have a brief look at each of them one by one.
Launch: September 2, 2024
Expected Price: Rs 11 lakh onwards (ex-showroom)
Kicking of the series of launches for September 2024 will be the ICE version of the Tata Curvv. The Tata Curvv will be an SUV-coupe set to compete in the compact SUV space in India. Tata has already disclosed all the specifications and features of the Curvv, save for its prices. The electric version of the Curvv is already on sale in India, and you can head here for more details.
The Curvv ICE will also mark the debut of Tata’s new 125 PS 1.2-litre T-GDi (direct injection) turbo-petrol engine, while it will also borrow both turbo-petrol and diesel powertrain options from the Nexon. In terms of features, the Curvv will be equipped with a large 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, and panoramic sunroof. The safety features will include 6 airbags (as standard), a 360-degree camera, and complete suite of level 2 ADAS features.
Launch: September 9, 2024
Expected Price: Rs 17 lakh onwards (ex-showroom)
Following the Tata Curvv, the Hyundai Alcazar is set to receive a midlife update this month. Hyundai has shown us what the exterior and interior of the Alcazar facelift looks like, and currently its bookings are also underway for Rs 25,000.
The Alcazar facelift features a fresh styling outside and a Creta inspired dashboard layout inside. Hyundai’s 3-row SUV now features dual integrated 10.25-inch screens, dual-zone AC, 8-way powered front seats, and wireless phone charger for both front and second-row seats. Passenger safety will be taken care of by 6 airbags (as standard), a 360-degree camera, and level 2 ADAS. The Alcazar facelift will continue using the same 160 PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 116 PS 1.5-litre diesel engine options.

The MG Windsor EV is essentially a rebadged version of the Wuling Cloud EV sold in the Indonesian market, which is scheduled to be launched in India on September 11. The Windsor EV is basically an electric crossover and features a clean and minimalistic design inside and out. Based on the previous teasers, the Windsor EV will be equipped with amenities like a big 15.6-inch touchscreen, a panoramic glass roof, and a fully digital driver’s display.
The battery pack and electric motor specifications are yet to be revealed, but we expect it to offer a claimed range of up to 460 km. Customers can also reserve the Windsor EV offline at select MG dealerships.
Launch: September 5, 2024

The Mercedes-Maybach product line defines the carmaker’s zenith of ultra luxury offerings, with a range of some ICE models, such as the Maybach S580 or GLS Maybach 600. In India, we are going to see the first-ever all-electric Maybach in September 2024, which is the Mercedes-Maybach 680 electric SUV.
The Maybach 680 will feature an MBUX Hyperscreen setup, similar to the other EQS models, but with Maybach-specific graphics too. The luxury electric SUV is expected to come with dual motors and have a claimed range of around 600 km.

The Tata Nexon is set to receive a CNG powertrain option, and its prices are expected to be announced in September. Tata has already showcased the Nexon CNG in Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, and just like all other CNG models from Tata, the Nexon CNG also features twin cylinder technology for a usable boot space.
The Nexon CNG will be equipped with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which will also make the first turbocharged CNG car in India. It could be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options. It will likely come at a premium of around Rs 1 lakh over the petrol variants of the Nexon.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx has already been launched starting from Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, Mahindra is yet to announce prices for the 4WD variants of the Thar Roxx, which we are expecting to be announced in September.
Apart from an extra set of doors, the Thar Roxx also comes with premium features like dual 10.25-inch screens, automatic AC, panoramic sunroof, and its safety kit also includes level 2 ADAS. Mahindra offers the Thar Roxx with both 2-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine options, however the 4WD option will only be available diesel variants of the SUV.

In August, Citroen showcased the updated version of its C3 Aircross SUV and C3 hatchback featuring new updates. The C3 hatchback has already been launched, while the prices for the updated C3 Aircross SUV are still awaiting and are expected to be announced next month.
The feature updates on the Citroen SUV includes automatic AC, a wireless phone charging, LED projector headlights, and keyless entry. It will continue to use the same 110 PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed AT.

The BYD e6 was the first offering from the Chinese automaker in India launched in 2021. Now, the e6, which is sold as M6 in global markets, is set to receive a facelift, expected to be launched in September.
The facelifted e6 will get refreshed looks and new features, including a 12.8-inch touchscreen system, a wireless phone charger, and a panoramic glass roof. The updated e6 could offer a claimed range of over 500 km.

The festive season has already begun, and Jeep may soon launch a special edition of the Compass featuring minor cosmetic enhancements, all at an attractive price. With this special edition, the automaker aims to capitalise on the festive demand. Shortly thereafter, Jeep is also expected to introduce updates to the Jeep Meridian.
