A new Mercedes-AMG is brewing, and it's another electric. After the EQS, this time around, it's the EQE sedan -- to be unveiled on February 16 -- that will get the German luxury marque's performance trim. Recent teasers from Mercedes-AMG have already given us an idea about what the performance sedan could look like.
The bright red shade is a dead giveaway that this one is a hawt Mercedes, but there are a couple more telltale signs. For example, the AMG-specific Panamericana grille and the bold, aggressive detailing on the front bumper. In profile, the AMG-specific wheels not only look stylish, but the design should aid aerodynamics as well.
We have yet to take a look inside, but if the AMG EQS is a reference point, we are up for something similarly special. Notable upgrades should include the AMG-specific steering wheel, sports front seats, and possibly plenty of (optional) carbon fibre bits. And then there's the glorious MBUX hyperscreen upping the ambience.

Until now, the EQE came with a single 292PS electric motor (with a 90.5kWh battery pack) driving the rear wheels. Now, since it's AMG we're talking about, the sedan will surely be uptuned for additional power. It is expected to get dual motors and a larger battery pack with similar specs (or slightly lesser) as the EQS. All about the EQS' powertrain here.
More details on the Mercedes-AMG EQE will surface during the unveiling. It will lock horns with other performance models like the BMW i4 and the Tesla Model 3.
