Quick News Highlights:
The Aprilia Tuono 457 was showcased at the EICMA 2024 in Italy. Now, the 457cc naked bike has a dedicated webpage on Aprilia India’s official website, hinting at the bike’s India launch, likely to happen very soon. However, the link is not directly accessible yet but a ready webpage means Aprillia india is in plans to launch it in India.
The upcoming Aprilia Tuono 457 is based on the same platform as its faired sibling, the Aprilia RS 457. The Tuono 457 is equipped with the same 457cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine, shared with the RS 457. The engine makes 47.6PS at 9,400rpm and 43.5Nm at 6,700rpm. It is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter.
The Aprilia Tuono 457 also shares the same features and electronics pack with the RS 457, including the 5-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. The Tuono has a ride-by-wire throttle and three ride modes: Eco, Sport and Rain. It also comes with three levels of traction control, which can also be turned off.
Underpinnings on the bike include a twin-spar aluminium frame, a 41mm inverted fork with 120mm wheel travel and a pre-load adjustable rear monoshock with 130mm wheel travel. The is equipped with a 320mm front and a 220mm rear disc brake with radially mounted ByBre callipers on both ends, with dual-channel ABS as standard. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped with 110-section front and 150-section rear tyres.
The Aprilia Tuono 457 will compete with the other powerful sub-450cc naked bikes including the KTM 390 Duke and Yamaha MT-03.
We expect the Aprilia Tuono 457 to be launched in India very soon, in the first half of 2025. The bike is likely to be priced somewhere around Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
