Your New Ather 450X Might Arrive Sooner Than Expected

Ather Energy intends on increasing its annual production capacity from one to four lakh units annually by the end of this year. The EV maker’s second production facility in Hosur, which will be adject to the current one, will aid in achieving the said production figures, which is set to be functional later this year.

Currently, Ather’s first manufacturing facility in Hosur has the capability of rolling out one lakh units per year. However, in actuality, the facility only produces around 10,000 units annually due to logistical and supply chain disruption issues.

Ather has also been in talks with Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka and Telangana state governments for setting up a third facility. With this, the EV manufacturer will be able to ramp up its production to 14 lakh units per year. You can read more about it here.

With the newly launched 450X Gen 3 and 450 Plus Gen 3, Ather plans to cater to the increasing demand for its e-scooters. Adding to that is the healthy climb in the 450X’ sales figures, with 3,190 units sold in June 2022. Interestingly, all units produced in the previous month were sold out.
