Bajaj CNG Bike Launch Delayed

Quick News Highlights

  • The Bajaj CNG bike was going to originally be launched on 18 June 2024

  • The launch has now been delayed to July 17 2024

  • ‘Bruzer’ was the Bajaj CNG bike’s internal code name, and the production name would be different

  • It was also revealed that this CNG bike would have some premium features or design

  • This bike will be able to run on both petrol and CNG

The upcoming Bajaj CNG bike’s launch has been delayed. The bike was slated to be launched on June 18 as Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto had stated during the launch of the Bajaj Pulsar NS 400 Z. However, that date has been pushed ahead and it will now be launched on July 17, as revealed by Rakesh Sharma (Executive Director, Bajaj Auto) in a recent interview. He gave further clarification on the bike’s name too.

Sharma revealed that while the bike’s internal codename is truly ‘Bruzer’, that’ll not be the Bajaj CNG bike’s actual name when launched. We did talk about the name Bruzer being a bit of an oddball, something that might not sit so well with the Indian audience. Previous trademark filings have revealed that the CNG bike could be called the Bajaj Fighter.

Sharma further revealed that the bike will be in the 100-150cc space, again something we did expect. We’ve been mentioning in our stories how it will likely be a 125cc CNG bike. But another interesting thing that he talked about was the ‘pride of ownership’ factor for this bike being strong, meaning the CNG bike won’t just be a bare bones bike. While he didn’t reveal a lot more, we think the bike could have a fully digital LCD console, connectivity features and a few more bits here and there to make it look and feel more than just an everyday commuter. Two other things that he mentioned were the bike’s compatibility to run on both petrol and CNG and the fact that it’ll lower the running costs by 50 percent, both things that were already mentioned before.

Now, while we were quite excited about the CNG bike launching in less than a week, such minor delays are understandable, especially when a brand’s building the world’s first CNG bike. If such minor delays mean a more refined product for the customer, we definitely do not mind it.
