The Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike is available in 3 variants: NG04 Drum, NG04 Drum LED and NG04 Disc LED. Here’s what’s different between them:

Bajaj Auto launched the world's first CNG-powered bike, the Bajaj Freedom 125, starting from Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom). As per Bajaj, the CNG bike was launched in an attempt to reduce air pollution levels for a better tomorrow. Since the bike primarily uses CNG to run, it reduces the running costs significantly compared to a petrol-powered two-wheeler. Despite being a commuter, Bajaj has given the Freedom 125 CNG bike a unique design that looks premium, with its exposed trellis frame, braced handlebar, and forks with fork sleeves.

The Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike has some notable features, like the longest seat in the segment, at 785mm, and a segment-first linked monoshock. It is equipped with a 2kg CNG tank & a 2-litre petrol tank, giving a claimed combined range of 330km and can be seamlessly shifted between CNG and petrol on-the-go through a switch on the handlebar.

The Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike is offered in 3 variants, and here’s what’s different between them:

NG04 Drum

The base variant of the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike, called the NG04 Drum, has a basic setup, coming equipped with a halogen headlight and a full-LCD console. Unlike the higher variants, the base variant doesn’t come with Bluetooth for smartphone connectivity.

Braking duties are taken care of by its 130mm front and 110mm rear drum brakes with CBS (combined braking system). The bike rolls on the same 17-inch front and 16-inch rear alloy wheels as the other variants but gets 80-section tyres on both ends. This variant also misses out on a tank cover flap, and it has a sheet metal bash plate. It is available in two colours only: Pewter Grey - Yellow & Ebony Black - Red.

NG04 Drum LED

The NG04 Drum LED, the mid variant, comes with an LED headlight, LED DRLs (daytime running lights) and a tank cover flap. Like the base variant, this one too doesn’t get Bluetooth for smartphone connectivity.

Like the ‘Drum’ in its name suggests, this variant is equipped with a bigger 130mm rear drum brake while the base variant comes with a 110mm rear drum brake. It has a solid plastic-steel bash plate. This variant is available in five colourways: Caribbean Blue, Ebony Black - Grey, Pewter Grey - Black, Racing Red & Cyber White.

NG04 Disc LED

The top variant of the bike is called the NG04 Disc LED, and this one is packed with features! Equipped with an LED headlight with LED DRLs, a negatively-lit LCD instrument console features smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth for call alerts with caller ID, missed call indication, and battery life. This variant gets a USB charging port to juice up your devices and a tank cover flap.

Being the top variant, it has a 240mm front disc brake and a 130mm rear drum brake with CBS. It rolls on a 17-inch front alloy wheel with a 90-section tyre while the rear 16-inch alloy wheel is fitted with a 120-section tyre. Like the mid-variant, it comes with a robust plastic-steel bash plate and is offered in 5 attractive colourways: Caribbean Blue, Ebony Black - Grey, Pewter Grey - Black, Racing Red & Cyber White.

Currently, the top variant is sold in Maharashtra and Gujarat only, while the other variants will be available in a month. The bike will be made available in other states over the next few months. While this is the world’s only CNG-powered bike, it goes up against the likes of conventional motorcycles like the Honda Shine 125, Hero Glamour, Bajaj Pulsar 125, Hero Xtreme 125R and the TVS Raider 125.
