Bikes And Scooters Expected at Auto Expo 2025

The Auto Expo 2025 will be held between January 17 - January 22, 2025 as part of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The theme of the expo is mainly about sustainable sources of energy and fuels. So, we expect a lot of flex-fuel and electric two-wheelers to be launched and unveiled at the upcoming expo.

Note: The list of manufacturers joining the Auto Expo 2025 haven’t been confirmed yet. So, the mention of the following manufacturers in the story is from a speculation perspective

Bajaj Auto unveiled the Pulsar NS160 Flex Fuel bike at the India Bio-Energy & Tech (IBET) Expo 2024. The bike runs on a fuel mixture of ethanol and petrol. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, did confirm earlier that the flex fuel bike could be launched by March 2025. So, if Bajaj Auto does plan to accelerate the bike’s launch, then we could see it happening at the Auto Expo 2025, or if nothing else, it might at least be unveiled at this Expo. TVS is another such manufacturer who has already unveiled its own flex fuel bike. The TVS Raider 125 Flex Fuel bike was unveiled at Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 and the bike runs on E85 ethanol blend, which is a mixture of 85% ethanol and 15% petrol. The neon green liveries on the tank and the tank extensions differentiate the bike, in terms of looks, from the petrol-powered model it is based on. Similarly, other manufacturers are expected to unveil their own flex fuel bikes at the expo as well. 

Moving on to the EVs, a new-gen Bajaj Chetak model could be launched at the expo. During an interview in May 2024, Rajiv Bajaj revealed that a new Chetak based on an entirely new platform will be launched in 2025. Also, according to a report published online a few months ago, the upcoming Chetak models will have new battery cells, which will be sourced from a new supplier and will provide a higher range output in the process. Ola Electric, in a recent shareholders’ meeting, revealed that its Gen 3 electric scooters will be launched in January 2025. The new scooters will have an in-house developed battery pack and the motor, battery, and the electronics will be integrated into a single box. There is a possibility that the new generation models of the S1 Pro, S1 Air and the S1 X could be launched at Auto Expo 2025. 

In the petrol-powered segment, the recently unveiled Hero Xtreme 250R, Karizma XMR 250, XPulse 210, updated Karizma XMR 210 and Mavrick 440 along with the new Vida Z are expected to be showcased at the expo. These models were unveiled at EICMA 2024 and their launch will probably occur at Hero World 2025. But, before that, we expect them to be present at Auto Expo 2025 for the Indian audience.

Other vehicles unveiled at EICMA 2024 like the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R, 390 Enduro And 390 SMC along with the newly launched big bikes from the Austrian manufacturer are likely to be there as well. Norton Motorcycles confirmed a few months ago that it will be entering the Indian market soon. So, the launch of that brand at Auto Expo 2025 will be a big move from TVS in announcing its arrival on a grand stage.
