The new year of 2025 is all set to start a new chapter of thrill and excitement in the two-wheeler industry with many promising bikes and scooters expected to launch in the very first month of 2025. We have compiled a list of bikes and scooters that are expected to launch in January 2025:
Honda India is all set to launch the Activa in an electric avatar, called the Honda Activa e:. The scooter comes with two 1.5kWh removable batteries, providing a claimed range of 102km. Honda revealed that the electric scooter will be launched in January and its deliveries will start in February 2025.
Along with the Activa Electric, Honda is also expected to launch the QC1 electric scooter, which looks like the Activa e: but differs in many ways, which would make it the more affordable scooter. The Honda QC1 comes with a different motor and a fixed 1.5kWh battery, and it delivers a claimed range of around 80km on a single charge.
The upcoming Royal Enfield Classic 650 was unveiled earlier at the EICMA 2024, and the 650cc roadster is expected to be launched in January 2025. It comes with a similar design as the smaller Classic 350, which makes the bike easily identifiable as a Royal Enfield. The Classic 650 is equipped with the same 647.95cc parallel-twin engine as the Super Meteor and the Shotgun 650 and has the same frame as well.
Royal Enfield unveiled the new Scram 440 at Motoverse in Goa in November 2024. The bike has a similar design as the previous model, but the fuel tank is slightly more bulky and the tail section is cleaner and slimmer. With a bigger 444cc engine, the Royal Enfield Scram 440 now makes 25.4PS and 34Nm, which is 1.1PS and 2Nm more than the previous model. The gearbox is now 6-speed instead of the 5-speed one. It is set to launch in January 2025.
Bookings for the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure S and 390 Enduro R have already begun across India and both the bikes are expected to be launched by the end of January 2025. The 390 Adventure S is going to be a capable off-road ADV also suitable for long highway tours. The KTM 390 Enduro R, on the other hand, is a more hard-core off-roader.
Both bikes will be equipped with the same 399cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine as the KTM 390 Duke, which makes 46PS and 39Nm. But we expect the engine to be tuned differently on both, to suit the bikes’ nature.
Hero MotoCorp has revealed the XPulse 210 at the EICMA 2024 in Italy. We expect the bike to be launched in India in January 2025. With a similar silhouette as the XPulse 200 4V, the Hero XPulse 210 features a few design tweaks like a taller visor, a flatter seat, new side panels, a slimmer tail and a longer tail rack. The bike is powered by the same 210cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine as the Karizma XMR that makes 24.8PS and 20.7Nm.
First showcased at the EICMA 2023 in Italy, the upcoming Hero Xoom 125R was spied testing in India a few months back, in September. The 125cc scooter comes with sporty and stylish looks along with chunky 14-inch wheels on both ends. The Xoom 125R is expected to be powered by the same 124.6cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine as the Hero Destini 125. The engine on the Destini makes 9.12PS and 10.4Nm. But the Xoom 125R is expected to be tuned differently, focusing on performance instead of mileage.
TVS Motor Company unveiled the Ronin DS (mid) variant with two new dual-tone colour options: Glacial Silver and Charcoal Ember. The TVS Ronin DS comes equipped with dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety and more confidence in case of sudden braking. The engine, features and the rest of the hardware remain unchanged. We expect the Ronin DS to launch in January 2025.
