Aprilia India has announced the launch dates for the Aprilia RS 457. The bike is coming to India on 17th or 18th, February 2025. It will be the streetfighter sibling of the Aprilia RS 457, and also the brand’s second bike based on the 457 platform.
The Aprilia Tuono 457 features a unique design, with a split LED headlight setup. The design slightly strays away from the typical design language that we have seen with the Tuono 660 and the Tuono V4. There have been mixed opinions on social media about its looks with enthusiasts being on polar opposite ends.
As the bike is a streetfighter, the ergonomics should be a bit more relaxed as compared to the RS 457. It features a wide handlebar, which will make it a lot less committed than the Aprilia RS 457, something many riders will appreciate.
Other than these design and ergonomic changes, the bike is very similar to the Aprilia RS 457 in terms of performance and cycle parts. The bike is powered by the same 457cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin motor which produces 47.6PS and 43.5Nm.
It features the same suspension setup as the RS 457 – a 43mm inverted fork and monoshock. The bike rolls on 17-inch alloys with tubeless tyres. Braking duties are taken care of by a 320mm front and 220mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS as standard.
The bike will likely get the same TFT console as the RS 457. It will also get electronic riding aids such as a 3-level traction control system, with the option to turn it off entirely. It will also get 3 riding modes: Rain, Sport and Eco which will modulate the level of traction control and ABS intervention.
The Tuono 457 could be priced at somewhere around Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will rival the KTM 390 Duke, Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, Yamaha MT-03, and other similar naked bikes. If you are wondering whether to wait for the Tuono or get the KTM 390 Duke, you can read our detailed comparison between the two.
In other Aprilia news, the RS 457 price has gone up by Rs 10,000, and the supersport bike now costs Rs 4,20,000 (ex-showroom). Even with the price increase the Aprilia RS 457 is still a good deal when compared to its main rival, the Kawasaki Ninja 500. The Ninja 500 for perspective comes at an ex-showroom price of Rs 5,24,000.
