(Update: Ather Energy has launched the all-new Ather Rizta family scooter. Check out the details in our launch story here.)

Ather Rizta Pre-Bookings Open

Ather Energy is gearing up to launch its family scooter, the Ather Rizta on April 6, 2024 on Ather Community Day. And now pre-bookings for the same are open on the EV maker’s website for a nominal fee of Rs 999, as confirmed by Ather Energy in a recent teaser.

The EV maker also shared three more teasers later in the day where it showcased various features of the upcoming electric scooter. In one of the teasers, the EV maker confirmed that the upcoming Rizta will get SMS alerts.

As a family scooter, the Rizta is expected to get a big underseat storage space (for perspective, the Ather 450X gets a 22-litre underseat storage space). And that has now been confirmed by Ather in one of the three teasers shared today.

And lastly, a feature to prevent “skid” was teased and we think it is going to be single-channel ABS. If the Rizta gets this feature, then it’ll be the first affordable electric scooter to do so.

The upcoming Ather Rizta, as a family-oriented scooter, will get a much larger seat than the Ather 450X. In fact, Ather’s CEO claimed last month that the Rizta’s seat will be the biggest in the market. The EV maker recently teased the water wading capacity of the scooter, where it was seen moving through about 1.3 feet of water. From that teaser, we got to see that the family gets a wide apron with apron-mounted LED headlight and the DRL is placed towards the bottom of the headlight cowl.

The battery’s durability was also tested in a teaser, where it was dropped from a height of 40 feet, equivalent to a four-storey building and the battery remained intact. Along with the Rizta, Ather Energy will also be rolling out the new Atherstack 6 OTA update and launching a smart accessory called ‘Halo’ on April 6, which is likely to be a smart helmet.

The upcoming Ather Rizta is expected to be priced around the Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom) mark and its rivals will be the TVS iQube, Hero Vida V1 Pro, Ola S1 Air and Bajaj Chetak.
