Quick News Highlights:
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have launched the Activa e: and QC1 electric scooters at Auto Expo 2024. The Activa electric being the more premium offering, gets a starting price tag of Rs 1,17,000. Whereas, the QC1 is the more affordable and costs Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom).
Both the Honda Activa e: and QC1 electric scooters are available in five colours: Pearl Serenity Blue, Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Misty White and Matt Foggy Silver Metallic.
The Honda Activa e: is available in two different variants: standard and RoadSync Duo, priced at Rs 1,17,000 and Rs 1,51,600 (ex-showroom Bengaluru), respectively. It comes with an elegant and minimalist look. The e-scooter gets an apron-mounted LED headlight, while the LED DRL (daytime running light) is placed on the headlight cowl. At the rear, the e-scooter has a slim tail section and sleek tail light. It has a spacious seat, a single-piece grab rail and even gets diamond-cut alloy wheels.
The Honda Activa e: comes with a mid-mounted electric motor that makes a peak output of 6kW and 22Nm. The scooter claims to accelerate from 0 to 60kmph in 7.3 seconds. It also has 3 riding modes: Econ, Standard, and Sport. The Activa electric comes with two swappable 1.5kWh battery packs, delivering a claimed range of 102km per charge. However, you will have to swap the battery packs at Honda’s dedicated swapping stations as there is no other way to charge the scooter at home or at any charging station. That means you have to plan your battery swaps in advance.
The standard Activa e: comes with a 5-inch TFT display, but misses out on smartphone connectivity features. The top-of-the-line Honda RoadSync Duo features a 7-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity including, call/SMS alerts, music control and navigation. It also gets maintenance alerts, live tracking and OTA updates. Both the variants get all LED lighting setup.
The Activa e: gets a telescopic fork and an offset single shock absorber. It is equipped with a front disc brake and a 130mm drum brake at the rear, with CBS (combined braking system). The e-scooter rides on 90-section tubeless tyres with 12-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels at both ends.
For Activa e:'s swappable battery packs, Honda Activa e: owners can subscribe to the manufacturer's swapping network. The Honda battery swapping network is currently available in cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi. Below is a detailed list of variant-wise subscription costs:

Priced at Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom), the new Honda QC1 looks quite similar to the Activa e:. However, the main visual difference is the lack of an LED DRL on the handlebar cover and simple alloy wheels.
The Honda QC1 has a similar design as the Activa e:, but misses out on an LED DRL. The electric scooter has a hub-mounted electric motor that makes 1.8kW, providing a top speed of 50kmph. The QC1 also has two ride modes: Econ and standard. The electric motor is powered by a fixed 1.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack that delivers a claimed range of 80km on a single charge. It comes with a wall charger which takes 4.5 hours to charge the e-scooter from 0 to 80 percent.
The QC1 electric scooter is equipped with all-LED lighting and a 5.0-inch LCD instrument console. The e-scooter also gets a USB type-C charging port and a 26-litre under-seat storage. The QC1 gets a telescopic fork and 5-step adjustable hydraulic dual shocks. The e-scooter is equipped with 130mm drum brakes on both ends with CBS. It is fitted with a 12-inch front and a 10-inch rear alloy wheel, both wrapped with 90-section tubeless tyres.
The deliveries of both these electric scooters will start in February 2025. The Activa e: and QC1 will be launched in a phased manner, starting with Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi. Afterwards, Honda will later launch the e-scooters in other Indian cities.
