In 2020, Honda gave us the Activa 6G. Packed with a cleaner BS6-compliant heart and new hardware, like telescopic fork and an external fuel filler cap, India’s top-selling scooter got even more appealing.
But, it wasn’t perfect like every two-wheeler and needed improvements to be made to it. A new teaser on the Japanese manufacturer’s website suggests that Honda is set to make amends by introducing a new iteration of the scooter soon.

While the Activa can outsell all other scooters and often eat into the sales of motorcycles like the Hero Splendor Plus, there are areas where it can be made better and this is what we are hoping to see addressed in its newest iteration.
While the Activa 5G had an analogue cluster with a small digital readout, the 6G got just an analogue unit. Today brands like Hero and TVS are throwing Bluetooth connectivity and full digital instrumentation in the deal. We could see a basic connectivity feature on this new iteration as on the Hero Pleasure Plus Xtec which enables call and SMS alerts.
Another area where the Activa can improve dramatically is the option to get a front disc brake and a pair of smart alloy wheels. Yes, the combined-braking system is available as standard on the Activa 6G’s front and back drum brake setup, but the braking performance can be made better by adding a front disc.
If Honda decides to roll-out these changes in the new iteration, we can expect a Rs 4,000-5,000 bump in the scooter’s price. Honda might also introduce a new model with all these features and name it the Honda Activa 7G. We’ll have to wait and see what approach Honda takes. Currently, the Activa 6G retails at Rs 72,400 for the base variant and Rs 74,400 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the Deluxe variant.
