Ola has also implemented a lot of bits that they had done on the S1 Gen 3 lineup. This includes things like a more powerful mid-mounted motor with a chain drive. Along with a new flat cable wiring system, this has simplified the wiring and also helps in preventing energy loss.
Another interesting thing that Ola Electric has mentioned is that the battery pack will support 4680 bharat cells in the future. These indigenously developed cells will be a lot more powerful than the 2170 cells that are currently used. The Ola Roadster X+ 9.1kWh variant features the Bharat Cells, which the brand claims has helped in giving it 501km claimed range.
Coming to the hardware, we can see that the Ola Roadster X is built on a dual-cradle frame. It features a telescopic fork and a twin rear shocks. The Raodster X rolls on an 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheel setup, with braking duties handled by a drum units at both ends. The Roadster X+ gets a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. This variant also gets single-channel ABS and Ola’s new brake-by-wire system. The bike has a ground clearance of 180mm.
In terms of features, the bike features a 4.3-inch segmented LCD console. The console offers readouts like speed, battery level, trip meter and odometer readouts. Along with this, the console also offers smartphone connectivity and related bits like turn-by-turn navigation. Lastly, the Ola roadster X+ variant also gets a reverse mode and cruise control.
The brand has revealed that the deliveries for the e-bikes will start from the March 2025. Rivals to the Ola Roadster X include commuter electric bikes in the market such as the Oben Rorr, and the Revolt RV400.
