Brixton Motorcycles has officially started pre-bookings for their motorcycles in India. They have partnered with KAW Veloce Motorcycles Pvt Ltd and have set up a production facility in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. They will launch four models in India which are: Crossfire 500X, Crossfire 500XC, Cromwell 1200 and Cromwell 1200X.
The Brixton Crossfire 500 is available in two variants: 500X and 500XC. Both the variants are powered by a 486cc parallel-twin water-cooled engine which makes 47PS at 8,500rpm and 43Nm at 6,750rpm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The difference between the two variants lies in the styling. The 500 X is the road-biased version which gets street tyres, while the 500 XC is a scrambler iteration. The 500 XC gets a higher handlebar to make the posture more upright and knobby dual-purpose tyres. The Crossfire 500X has 17-inch wheels, while the Crossfire 500XC has a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear, all spoke. The underpinnings of both the models remain the same. They get an adjustable fork and an adjustable monoshock along with a 320mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear. Brixton claims the bikes will reach a top-speed of 160kmph and return a mileage of 25kmpl.
The Brixton Cromwell 1200 is available in two variants: 1200 and 1200 X. Just like the Crossfire, one is a road-biased variant which is the standard Cromwell 1200 and one is a scrambler, the Cromwell 1200 X. Both motorcycles are powered by a 1,222cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine which makes 83PS at 6,550rpm and 108Nm at 3,100rpm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The difference in two variants lies in the styling, the standard Cromwell 1200 gets a lower handlebar and street tyres while the 1200XC gets dual-purpose knobby tyres and a raised handlebar to make going offroad more comfortable.
As for the price, we expect the Crossfire 500 X to be priced around Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom) and the Crossfire 500 XC to be around Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom). The Cromwell 1200 will be priced around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) while the Cromwell 1200 X to be priced at Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The company will launch the motorcycles in the month of November.
