The much anticipated Mahindra Thar Roxx has been in the limelight for a good amount of time ahead of its launch which is scheduled on August 15, 2024. The Indian auto manufacturer has been constantly teasing the upcoming 5-door Thar Roxx vigorously on its social media handles, and the recent post showcases the lifestyle off-road capable SUV sporting a white colour. 

Mahindra 5 Door Thar Roxx: Exterior

The Thar Roxx will be an elongated version of the Thar with additional doors along with added comfort, convenience and safety features to position it as a premium lifestyle off-road capable SUV in the market. 

The newly teased social media post showcases the 5 door Thar Roxx in a white paint scheme giving out more design cues about it. The Thar Roxx gets an overhauled look with redesigned body coloured grille and new bumpers with contrasting silver highlights. It now gets C-shaped LED DRLs with LED projector headlamps, and the fog lamps is situated down below in the bumper. 

The stretched profile of the Thar Roxx accommodates an extra pair of second row doors with the handles placed on the C-pillar. For a premium appeal, it gets silver finished door-steps and sporty looking dual-tone 10-spoke alloy wheels. The rear gets LED tail lights and most likely will get a spare-wheel cover. 

Mahindra 5 Door Thar Roxx: Interior Features

The Mahindra Thar Roxx 5-door will get a light beige-coloured interior theme as found in the XUV700 and XUV 3XO. It will get all the comfort and convenience features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, premium Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof (top-spec trims) along with single pane sunroof (mid-spec), and automatic climate control unit. 

Safety tech should encompass 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and electronic stability control as standard across the lineup. Furthermore it is also expected to get all-wheel disc brakes, 360 degree surround view camera with front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system and ADAS Level 2 suite like autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind spot detection and adaptive cruise control.

Mahindra 5 Door Thar Roxx: Expected Powertrain

The 5 Door Mahindra Thar Roxx is most likely to get the 2-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine options from the Thar 3-door, likely in a higher level of tune. Both these engine options could be offered with the choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The 5 door Mahindra Thar Roxx is also expected to be offered in both four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive configurations. Another recent teaser has also confirmed that the Thar Roxx will get an electronically actuated rear differential lock and hill descent control.

Mahindra 5 Door Thar Roxx: Price And Rivals

The 5 Door Mahindra Thar Roxx is expected to be introduced at a starting price of Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom), and will rival other off-road capable lifestyle SUVs like the Force Gurkha 5 door and will be a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
