Hyundai very recently launched a new E+ variant of the Venue subcompact SUV, priced at Rs 8.23 lakh (ex-showroom). It is based on the base-spec E variant, and the purpose of launching this extended variant is to make the sunroof more affordable than before. In this article, we will be detailing the newly launched E+ variant of the Venue using 8 real-world images:
First, let’s understand the pricing structure of the new variant with respect to the variant that it is based on and the next most affordable variant with sunroof.
Variant |
Price (ex-showroom) |
E |
Rs 7.94 lakh |
E+ (New) |
Rs 8.23 lakh |
S+ (Next Sunroof Variant) |
Rs 9.35 lakh |
As seen above, you pay an extra Rs 29,000 to get the sunroof over the base variant. In comparison to the S+, it makes the sunroof more accessible by Rs 1.12 lakh.
In terms of design, the E+ variant of the Venue is the same as the base-spec E variant of the Venue. The fascia features a dark chrome grille, halogen headlamps and body coloured bumpers. The silver skid plate adds a rugged look to the front.
From the sides, the Venue E+ comes with 15-inch steel wheels with wheel covers. It gets body coloured door handles, and the turn indicators are present on the front fender instead of the ORVMs. To compliment its SUV stance, it comes with roof rails.
Being a base variant, it misses out on illumination within the centre part of the connected LED tail lights, which is available with the higher-spec variants. Rounding off the look is the silver skid plate which adds a touch of contrast to the subcompact SUV.
The interior remains the same as the E variant of the Venue. The only addition to it is a single-pane sunroof, which adds a bit of appeal to the rather basic cabin. Basic because it misses out on a music system, and speakers. So, you will have to spend a little extra to get the infotainment unit installed.
Apart from a sunroof, it gets essential features like a manual AC, semi-digital driver display, front power windows, 60:40 split for the rear seats, and adjustable headrests for front and rear seats. In terms of safety, it gets ABS with EBD, six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), 3-point seatbelts for all seats, and hill-start assist.
THe Venue E+ variant is powered by a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine which produces 83 PS and 114 Nm. The engine can be had with a 5-speed manual transmission only. Higher-spec variants are also available with a more potent 1-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine as well. These engines can be had with automatic transmission options as well.
The Hyundai Venue is priced from Rs 7.94 lakh to Rs 13.48 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Toyota Taisor, Citroen Basalt and the Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
