Kia India opened bookings for the 2024 Carnival on September 16 and the premium MPV has already set a benchmark for itself. The Korean marque has announced that the new-gen Carnival has racked up 1,822 bookings on day 1 of pre-launch reservations. That’s 412 more than the previous-gen model getting on its first day of bookings.
The Kia Carnival 2024 is all set to be launched in India on October 3. It’s basically the facelifted version of the fourth-gen model sold in overseas markets. In case you had your eyes on one, here are all the important details you need to know:
Kia will offer the 2024 Carnival in India in two broad variants: Limousine and Limousine Plus. The former comes with a navy blue / beige interior, while the latter gets a black / tan cabin colour scheme. As for exterior colour options, you just have two choices: Glacier White Pearl and Fusion Black.
We must say, it looks dope in black!
Like any other Kia in the market, the 2024 Carnival comes loaded to the gills with features. Highlights include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 64-colour ambient lighting, two single-pane sunroofs, a head-up display, 12-speaker Bose sound system, powered front and middle row seats with ventilation and heating as well as powered rear doors and tailgate.
Passenger safety is taken care of by eight airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors all around the car, 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system and Level-2 ADAS.
The Kia Carnival is powered by a sole 2.2-litre diesel engine developing 193 PS and 440 Nm. All of that is sent to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The Kia Carnival will come to India as a fully imported model, meaning it won’t come cheap. One can expect prices to start around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom). This puts it as a more affordable alternative to the Toyota Vellfire. It can also be considered as a premium and more upmarket option against the Toyota Innova Hycross.
