Volkswagen recently launched the Virtus GT Line trim, starting from Rs 14.07 lakh (ex-showroom), and it comes with the blacked-out design elements, making the sportier looking GT avatar of the Virtus more accessible. In this article, we take you through the real-life images of the Virtus’ GT Line trim, detailing its design, powertrain options and features.
Let’s begin:
Usually we start by explaining the design, but here we would like to first talk about the powertrain options and the significance of this trim. The GT theme was earlier offered only with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine of the Virtus. But, the GT Line variants are powered by the smaller 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, making the sportier theme more affordable and available with both engine options.
The engine offered with this trim is the 1-litre turbo-petrol engine which produces 115 PS and 178 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Now, let us take a look at the exterior design of the GT Line. Up front, the Virtus GT Line sports blacked-out LED headlamps and LED DRLs, along with a black finish for the grille as well. These sporty elements make the trim look stealthy. However, it misses out on the GT badging and it is restricted to GT Plus Sport trim.
In profile, it gets blacked-out 16-inch alloy wheels and black coloured ORVMs adding to the sporty look. You get a “GT Line” badging on the front door instead of the red GT badging on the grille. The door handles are also covered in a dark chrome hue.

Coming to the rear, it gets blacked-out LED tail lights and a black lip spoiler which further accentuate the sporty aesthetics. The ‘Virtus’ lettering is also finished in… you guessed it right… black! Additionally, you also get the “GT Line” badge on the tailgate.
The cabin sports an all-black theme, with contrasting red-coloured ambient lighting and a red theme for the digital driver’s display, as part of the GT look. Adding a touch of bling to the dashboard are the gloss black inserts. The seats and headliner are also finished in black and you get aluminum pedals as well that accentuate the sporty vibe of the cabin.
Top features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, a single-pane sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, and keyless entry.
Safety kit includes 6 airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill hold control, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), rain-sensing wipers, auto dimming IRVM, and a reverse parking camera.
The Volkswagen Virtus GT Line is priced from Rs 14.07 lakh to Rs 15.18 lakh (ex-showroom). The Virtus competes with compact sedans like Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and the Hyundai Verna.
