A couple of days back, Citroen revealed the Basalt SUV in full on shores ahead of its expected launch in the coming days. From the unveiling event, we learned that the Basalt will be available in multiple colour options and powertrains to choose from, catering to the needs of different buyers. Bookings for the Basalt are open at select dealerships. Let’s take a look at all its specifications that have been revealed:
Citroen Basalt: Colour Options And Dimensions
The Basalt SUV coupe will be available in 7 colour options, including 5 monotone and 2 dualtone options. These options include: Polar White, Steel Grey, Platinum Grey, Cosmo Blue, and Garnet Red, Polar White with a grey roof and Garnet Red with a black roof.

Citroen Basalt: Powertrain

As seen in the table, the manual variant of the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine offers the highest fuel efficiency, while the automatic variant has the most output on paper. The turbo-petrol is the same engine found in the C3 Aircross, while the non-turbo NA petrol engine has been sourced from the C3 hatchback.
Citroen Basalt: Features
In terms of features, the Basalt gets a 10.2-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, rear AC vents, steering mounted audio controls, automatic climate control, and wireless phone charging.
Its safety kit includes six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a rear parking camera with parking sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Citroen Basalt: Price And Rivals
Citroen has not yet announced the prices for the Basalt, but we expect them to do so in the coming weeks. Prices for the SUV coupe are likely to start from around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the upcoming Tata Curvv, which will be launched around the same time. It will also be an alternative to compact SUVs such as the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and VW Taigun.
