Kia India is all set to give the Carens a midlife makeover pretty soon. After marking its entry in the Indian market back in February 2022, this is the first facelift which the MPV will get. It has already been spotted testing in Korea, and this new spy shot on our shores reveals new design details about the upcoming MPV ahead of its expected 2025 launch. Without further ado, here’s what we can decipher from the latest spy shots:
The overall proportions of the facelifted Carens look identical to the existing model, but will carry slight design changes across to be in line with the current design language of Kia.
Even though the test mule spotted here is under heavy camouflage, the Carens will get a redesigned front fascia.
Upon having a closer look, the Carens might get, what looks like an all LED connected DRL strip running between the redesigned headlamp cluster. The light signature and patterns should be similar to the current design language as seen on the facelifted Sonet and Seltos.
The side profile of the Carens does not seem to carry any prominent change, but will sport redesigned dual-tone alloy wheels for a much sportier stance.
At the back, the Carens will continue to have a connected light setup along with illumination and lighting signature at par with the current gen models. But those lights could sport new styling elements within it, along with a restyled bumper as well.

The Kia Carens is already a feature rich MPV in its segment with comfort and convenience niceties like ventilated seats, premium Bose sound system, air purifier, sunroof, ambient lighting and 10.25-inch infotainment screen as well as digital driver’s display. The Carens will continue to get all of this with few additions to its equipment list.
Upon a closer look, the Carens facelift can be seen with cameras on both the ORVMs, hence hinting that it could get a 360-degree camera support along with ADAS Level 1 features like blind spot monitoring, emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.
The Kia Carens EV is also expected to launch by 2025 along with its internal combustion engined (ICE) counterpart. The Kia Carens is currently offered in three engine options: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine mated to a 6 speed manual transmission producing 115 PS, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission producing 160 PS, and a 1.5 litre diesel engine producing 116 PS and can be had with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed IMT and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission option. It is expected to carry all the mentioned powertrains in the facelifted versions as well.
The Kia Carens currently gets nine broad trim levels and is priced from Rs 10.51 lakh to Rs 19.66 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals other MPVs in the market like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Rumion and is an MPV alternative to SUVs like the Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar.
