Mark your calendars, set your alarms, and turn up your notifications for September 14 because that is when the facelifted Tata Nexon and Nexon EV are going to be launched in the country. It has been a long time coming, ever since we first spotted it testing back in March 2023, but the long wait is finally nearing an end.
It was just recently that we first got a look at the rear of the facelifted Nexon sans any camouflage and thanks to the slew of spied images before it, we deciphered what to expect from it. Although it is a facelift, the changes seem to be more of a generational update, considering the exterior and interior styling along with the features and powertrains that are going to be updated. Quite a thorough rework then.
For starters, the front will borrow cues from the Curvv SUV with new DRLs and LED headlamps, the former likely to span the width of the bonnet. The profile is expected to be unchanged for the most part, except for redesigned alloys.
However, the rear has been updated quite heavily, starting with the full-width LED tail light. These will now feature Audi-like dynamic turn indicators, while the bumper has also been tweaked here with an edgy outlining for the reversing lights.
Thinking that's plenty of revisions for a facelift? We’ve just scratched the surface. Expect a Curvv-inspired cabin layout as well, with a two-spoke steering wheel and touch-based climate controls. The screens have also grown in size, with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital driver's display in the instrument binnacle. The interior theme should also include new hues as spotted on previous occasions.

As for the features list, it is expected to retain bits like its sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, and cruise control. We do expect a bolstered safety kit which could include six airbags and a 360-degree camera, aiding existing equipment like electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and parking sensors.
While the facelifted Nexon is expected to retain its 1.5-litre diesel engine, it’s likely to feature the new 125PS T-GDI unit, paired to a DCT automatic transmission with paddle shifters. As for the EV, that should continue with its existing technology.

With all these updates, the facelifted Tata Nexon is bound to create a riot amongst competitors when it gets launched on September 14. We will be driving the sub-compact SUV before it, so let us know if you have any specific questions in mind down in the comments below. The facelifted Nexon will continue to fend off competition and be an even bigger pain for the likes of the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300 and Nissan Magnite. The faceliftef Nexon EV, on the other hand, will continue to rival the Mahindra XUV400.
