Ducati India has launched a new colour option for the Ducati Panigale V2 called ‘Black On Black’ and is priced at Rs 20.98 Lakh (ex-showroom). This makes it Rs 30,000 more expensive than the Ducati Red colour option and Rs 4.19 lakh more expensive than the in-line, four cylinder powered Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R (Rs 16.79 lakh, ex-showroom)!

The Black On Black colour option gets subtle, red stickering on the fairing, fuel tank and tail panel while the rest of the bike is draped in a gloss black paint job. The alloy wheels get a red stripe that complements the rest of the design very well. The supersport is powered by a 955cc, L-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 155PS at 10,750rpm and 104Nm at 9000rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter and a slip-and-assist clutch.

The Ducati Panigale V2 gets an aluminium, monocoque frame along with a single-sided aluminium swingarm. The suspension setup consists of a 43mm Showa Big Piston Fork (BPF) with full adjustability for preload, compression and rebound damping along with a fully adjustable Sachs monoshock. At the front, it gets twin 320mm disc brakes with radially mounted Monobloc M4.32 four-piston callipers and at the rear, it gets a 245mm disc brake with a 2-piston calliper from Brembo. The wheelbase of the Panigale V2stands at 1,436mm, the seat height at 840mm and it has afuel tank capacity oft 17 litres.

In terms of features, the Panigale V2 gets a 4.3-inch TFT instrument console and three riding modes: Race, Sport and Street. Rider aids include cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control and engine braking control. Price alternatives for the Ducati Panigale V2 include the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and the BMW S1000RR but those bikes are powered by in-line four-cylinder engines and produce way more power than the Panigale V2 (48PS and 55PS respectively).
