Kia has just taken the covers off the facelifted Kia Seltos. Because it is the first major update for the compact SUV since its inception, it is more than just a mid-life facelift and packs quite a few new details and equipment. Here’s everything you need to know about the facelifted Seltos in 10 images:
Given that the changes to the exterior aren’t too extensive, the design is immediately identifiable as the Seltos, but it does look fresh. The breadth of freshness is thanks to the even bigger ‘Tiger Nose’ grille that compliments the tweaks to the front bumper. The reprofiled LED DRLs up front extend towards the middle of the grille and the sequential turn indicators round up the changes to its front.
18-inch alloy wheels derived from the X-Line trim are the only change in profile and give the compact SUV a solid stance.

Things get upmarket at the rear, courtesy of the connected LED tail light unit, which, alongside the tweaked rear bumper with cladding, gives the facelifted Seltos a modern look. Oh, and adding some sporty flavour to its design are the new twin exhaust ports limited to select variants.
Following the increasingly ubiquitous dual-screen trend, Kia has integrated the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display onto a single bezel. The new layout also makes use of sleeker AC vents in the middle and there is a new colour scheme to choose from: black / tan. Those are offered alongside the current all-black and black / beige options.
In terms of features, there's a new panoramic sunroof letting in more light inside the cabin, while comfort has been further enhanced by dual-zone climate control. It retains the outgoing model’s features like the wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a heads-up display, ambient lighting, a wireless phone charger, connected car tech, and ventilated front seats. You also get an eight-way power driver’s seat, electric ORVMs, an 8-speaker Bose sound system and paddle shifters (AT only).
Safety has also been altered or rather improved as level-2 ADAS and electronic parking brakes with auto hold have now made their way inside. Other common safety equipment on board comprises six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
As for powertrain options, there are a total of three choices: 116PS/250Nm 1.5-litre diesel, 115PS/144Nm 1.5-litre petrol, and a new 160PS/253Nm 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. A six-speed iMT is available with the turbo-petrol and diesel engines, while a 6-speed AT, CVT, and 7-speed DCT are offered as options for the diesel, NA-petrol, and turbo-petrol engines, respectively. The pure petrol engine is the only one in the entire Seltos range to get a 6-speed manual transmission.
Colour options for the facelifted Seltos include eight monotone hues, two dual-tone shades, and a single matte graphite (X-Line only) shade option. The single-tone options include Pewter Olive (new), Clear White, Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Glacier White Pearl, Intense Red, and Imperial Blue. The dual-tone shades are Intense Red and Glacier White Pearl paired with an Aurora Black Pearl hue for the roof.
Kia will offer the Seltos in three broad trims: Tech Line, GT Line, and X-Line. Pre-launch bookings for the compact SUV will start on July 14. Current Seltos owners will also get an additional privilege to avail priority delivery, but only if they put their name down for the car on July 14 itself.

Expect the facelifted Seltos to carry a premium over the outgoing model, the prices for which range between Rs 10.89 lakh and Rs 19.65 lakh (ex-showroom). With fresher looks, an updated cabin, and even more features than before, the facelifted Kia Seltos could give a tough time to the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and the upcoming Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross.
