Ahead of the launch of the new Honda Elevate Black Edition, we have got our hands on the pictures of the special edition of the SUV. Notably, this model has already started arriving at dealerships. These exclusive pictures show the all-black exterior and interior. The Elevate is not the first compact SUV in its segment to be available in a black edition. There is the Hyundai Creta Knight Edition, MG Astor Blackstorm, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Black Series, to name a few.
This upcoming special edition of the features of several cosmetic changes over the standard model. While the Elevate has never been offered in a black paint option, the new edition debuts the shade for the Elevate.
The Elevate Black Edition comes with new contrasting silver door garnish, which is usually in body-coloured. Also on offer are new black alloy wheels. However, the SUV continues with the silver trim on the front and rear bumpers and silver roof rails. The prominent chrome strip on the Black Edition’s grille also remains the same as the regular model.
Unlike the dual-tone theme of the standard Elevate, the new Black Edition of the SUV adorns an all-black theme for the cabin. Honda has replaced the silver accents on the steering wheel and dashboard with a gloss black shade. In fact, the seats also feature a black upholstery. Apart from that, the cabin retains its layout and features as the standard car.
The Elevate Black Edition offers the same features as the car it is based on, such as the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch display, a wireless charging pad, auto-dimming IRVM, 8 speakers, leatherette upholstery, an electric sunroof, and paddle shifters. On the other hand, the safety kit comprises a lane watch camera, electronic stability control (ESC), ADAS, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, and 6 airbags.
Powering the Elevate Black Edition is likely to be the same 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 121PS and 145 Nm. This motor is coupled to a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission.
The Honda Elevate Black Edition is expected to attract a premium over the standard model, which costs Rs 11.69 lakh to Rs 16.71 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV continues to compete against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Tata Curvv, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, and Citroen Basalt.
