Unofficial bookings for the Kawasaki KLX230 S opened at select dealerships for Rs 10,000
The bike is expected to launch in the coming weeks
It will likely be priced around Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Kawasaki KLX230 S is speculated to launch soon. As we get closer to its launch, our sources have indicated that unofficial bookings have already commenced at select dealerships, for a sum of Rs 10,000.
The Kawasaki KLX230 S is a lightweight dual-sport bike that has been spotted multiple times during testing and we expect it to launch in the coming weeks. It is anticipated that the bike will be locally manufactured, which suggests that Kawasaki aims to price it around the Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. Competitive pricing will be crucial to the KLX230 S' success in the market, especially as it goes head-to-head with the Hero XPulse 200 4V. Additionally, it’s important to note that Hero is currently testing the upcoming XPulse 210, which will introduce significant competition for the KLX230 S.
As per the KLX230 S’ international spec sheet, the bike is powered by a 233cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which produces 19PS and 19.8Nm. Based on a perimeter frame, the bike has a telescopic fork and a monoshock. It has a kerb weight of around 133kg, which might increase with the addition of the saree guard and other bits to meet Indian regulations. It offers a ground clearance of 210mm.
Feature-wise the bike is fairly simple as it is equipped with an LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity via the Kawasaki Rideology App. Additionally, it offers switchable rear ABS, a necessary feature since it is a dual-sport bike meaning enthusiasts will want to ride the bike off-road.
