Great news, Royal Enfield fans! According to multiple dealer sources, the Continental GT 650 will soon get an update, and it’s an important one. The retro racer will soon not only see some new colours but, more critically, tubeless alloy wheels!
Much like on the Classic 350, Royal Enfield could launch this update as a new trim of the GT 650 and sell it alongside the existing wire-spoke wheels option. Tubeless alloy wheels should certainly help change the ride and handling dynamics of the bike, and let’s not forget how much easier it will be to fix a puncture now. All we want to say - “exciting!”
Another significant change that we can expect in this update is the Continental GT 650 meeting the upcoming OBD2 emission norms.
According to our sources, the average premium Royal Enfield is likely to ask for this update is roughly around Rs 12,000, and should roll it out towards the end of March. Currently, prices for the Continental GT 650 start at Rs 3.05 lakh (ex-showroom). On a side note, we hope these rims can be retrofitted to older Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 too.
