Back in April 2021, we reported that the Yamaha MT-15 was set to receive dual channel ABS for its next set of updates. Now, a newly leaked type approval document has revealed that the MT-15 will also feature Bluetooth connectivity in its upcoming iteration.
Expect the connectivity module to be borrowed from the recently launched R15 V4. So the updated MT-15 would benefit from a new instrument console and an updated switchgear. Apart from that, expect the inclusion of a USD fork since the R15 V4 received the same update.
It’ll likely retain its current155cc single-cylinder VVA mill, developing 18.5PS and 13.7Nm. Even the design, braking hardware and all the other bits will remain unaltered.
All said and done, the new set of updates will bring in a price bump. So, we expect the updated Yamaha MT-15 to cost about Rs 5,000 more than the current model which retails at Rs 1,46,900 onwards (ex-showroom Delhi).
