The updated Tata Safari borrows its design cues from the Curvv concept, which was first displayed at 2023 Auto Expo

Tata has officially unveiled the facelifted 2023 Safari after releasing multiple teasers on its social media handles. The 3-row SUV features a revamped design inspired from the Curvv concept. Pre-launch bookings for the facelifted Safari are now open and if you'd like a closer look at it, you can explore our image gallery, which provides you with details through 10 pictures:

The 2023 Safari facelift boasts a striking redesign, taking inspiration from the Curvv concept. Notable changes include a revamped closed-off grille with color-coded accents and LED DRLs stretching across the entire front end. Below the grille, you'll find rectangular enclosures that house the newly designed LED headlights and fog lamps, enhancing the SUV's overall aggressive and modern look.

When viewed from the side, you'll observe minimal changes, with the newly designed wheels and the introduction of Safari badging on the front doors being the primary updates.

Shifting your focus to the rear, you'll immediately notice a new set of seamlessly connected LED taillights and a revised bumper.

Regarding colour choices, it offers a range of options that includes Cosmic Gold, Galactic Sapphire, Stardust Ash, Stellar Frost, Oberon Black, Supernova Copper, and Lunar Slate.

Upon stepping inside the facelifted Safari, you'll be greeted by a redesigned dashboard with cleaner lines and design elements. It still features a floating infotainment system, now with larger 12.3-inch screen borrowed from the Nexon EV. Just below this screen, you'll find the streamlined air conditioning vents and touch-sensitive controls for the newly introduced dual-zone climate control system.

Further design enhancements include a new 4-spoke steering wheel featuring an illuminated Tata logo and a gear lever inspired by Land Rover's style for the automatic variant. The drive mode selector has also been updated, now featuring a display between the controls.

The 2023 Safari introduces a range of new features, encompassing a fully digital 10.25-inch driver's display, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, knee airbag (totaling 7 airbags), powered tailgate with gesture-based opening, and rear sunshades.

The vehicle continues to retain desirable features, including ventilated front and second-row seats (available in the 6-seater configuration), connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry with push-button start, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) package.

The 2023 Tata Safari retains its powertrain option, a 170PS 2-litre diesel engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. It's worth noting that the automatic transmission now comes equipped with paddle shifters, catering to those who prefer greater control over gear changes.

Also, the facelifted Safari could come with a higher price tag compared to the current model, which starts at Rs 15.84 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2023 Tata Safari facelift is anticipated to compete head-to-head with rivals like the MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar, and Mahindra XUV700 7-seater variants in the market.
