Kia recently launched the HTE(O) and HTK(O) variants for the Sonet, based on the HTE and HTK variants, respectively. In this report we are going to take you through the HTK (O) variant of the Sonet which gets a couple of high-end features over the HTK variant of the Sonet.
Let’s get started!
The Sonet gets the redesigned grille with silver inserts surrounding it. It gets halogen headlights and misses out on LED DRLs and LED fog lamps which are available on the one-above HTK+ variant.
It gets 16-inch styled steel wheels from the HTK+ variant. You also get to see the silver roof rack which further uplifts the exterior look.

The connected tail lights give the rear an upmarket look. The design is complemented by a silver skid plate adding a bit of ruggedness to the appearance of the car.
Step inside and you will see an all-black cabin complemented with black fabric seats. To keep some contrast, you get silver accents around the AC vents, steering wheel, and lower centre console. The notable difference over the HTK variant is that when you enter the cabin you will see the automatic AC controls instead of the manual AC.
The HTK (O) variant of the Sonet gets an electric sunroof, rear defogger, and automatic climate control over the HTK variant. Other than the aforementioned features, it also gets an 8-inch infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 4.2-inch semi digital driver’s display, C-type chargers (1 at the front, 2 at the rear), tilt steering, electric ORVMs, rear AC vents, 6-speaker sound system, and rear sun shades.
In terms of safety, it features six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill-start assist, rear parking camera with sensors and seat belt reminders for all occupants.
The HTK (O) variant of the Sonet gets the option of both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine is powered by the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated unit making 82 PS and 115 Nm paired with a 5-speed manual, while the diesel engine gets the familiar 1.5-litre unit making 116 PS and 250 Nm, teamed with a 6-speed manual. A 1-litre turbo-petrol engine is available on the higher variants for folks seeking more power.
The HTK(O) variant is priced at Rs 9.25 lakh for the petrol-manual variant and Rs 10.85 lakh (ex-showroom) for the diesel variant.
Overall, the added features make the optional variant much more desirable and worth paying an additional amount of up to Rs 36,000 over the HTK variant. The Sonet competes against the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV 300 and Renault Kiger.
