Prices for the 2023 Kia Seltos range from Rs 10.89 lakh to Rs 19.99 lakh
The 2023 Kia Seltos is fresh out of the pan, and apart from the usual facelift treatment, it comes in three broad trim options: Tech Line, GT Line, and X Line. These three trims further part into 18 variants, but today we’ll be taking a detailed look at the HTX variant, which sits below the top-spec HTX+ variant of the Seltos’ Tech Line trim.
But before we get to how the HTX variant looks from the inside out, let’s take a look at the engine options available with the same. So you get both the 1.5-litre NA petrol (115PS/144Nm) and diesel engine (116PS/250Nm) options that were on offer with the pre-facelift Seltos. The former can be had with either a six-speed MT or CVT, while a 6-speed iMT or AT gears the diesel engine. This variant doesn’t get the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, for which you need to step up or down. Head here for full details on the Seltos’ variant-wise powertrain options.
Over to the exterior: Given that the Tech Line is effectively the entry-level trim of the 2023 Seltos, the aggression in its styling is relatively dialed down in contrast to its other trims as it takes a more elegant approach. But still, you get a full LED headlight setup with dynamic LED turn indicators, LED DRLs, and LED fog lamps as well.
In profile, you get 17-inch monotone alloy wheels and a chrome finish for the outside door handles. The dual-tone units are limited to the HTX+, while 18-inch alloys can only be had in the GT Line and X Line.
Coming to the rear, the HTX variant of the Seltos does feature that new styling party trick of the compact SUV – the connected LED taillights. You also get a rather simple bumper design with a pinch of cladding and reverse lights that flank the unit from both sides.

Open the doors of the Seltos’ HTX variant and you’ll be welcomed by a rather well-equipped cabin finished in a black and beige theme. You get black and beige leatherette seats (CVT/ AT) or pure beige leatherette seats (MT/ iMT), depending on the powertrain. A leatherette-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, centre console armrest, and door pad keep the driver comfortable and there are also a bunch of LED lamps for some cabin illumination at night.
It packs a load of niceties as well, including a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen system, ambient lighting, an air purifier, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, auto folding ORVMs, and cruise control. However, the instrument cluster display is similar to what we’ve seen on the Carens and isn’t a fully digital one.
In terms of safety, it gets six airbags, a rear wiper and washer, a rear defogger, a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, all-wheel disc brakes, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM) and tyre pressure monitoring system.
Even though its list of features is rather beefy, it still misses out on features like wireless phone charging, a fully digital 10.25-inch driver’s display, ventilated front seats, 8-way powered driver seat, 8-speaker Bose sound system, rain-sensing wipers, ADAS and more. You need to step up for all of this.

While Kia sells the 2023 Seltos between Rs 10.89 lakh and Rs 19.99 lakh, prices for the HTX trim juggle between Rs 15.19 lakh and Rs 18.19 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The facelifted Kia Seltos continues to rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and the upcoming Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross.
