Citroen C5 Aircross Facelift Coming To India This Year

• Citroen C5 Aircross facelift introduced globally in January 2022.
• Gets a larger grille, new headlamps, alloys, and revised bumpers.

Citroen India has confirmed that the facelifted C5 Aircross will be launched here in September. The facelifted model was introduced globally in January 2022. The pre-facelift SUV, which also happens to be Citroen’s debut model in India, was introduced in March 2021. 

Although the refreshed model sports subtle design changes, they do go a long way in giving the SUV a classier look. Up front, the two-piece grille and split headlamps have been replaced by a larger single-piece unit, which gets LED lighting all the way to the logo with interrupted lines. Looks uber cool! In profile, the SUV features redesigned alloys, and at the rear, it now features new design elements in the tail lamps. Restyled bumpers at either end round off the overall design. 

Things are more radical on the inside, thanks to the addition of a larger 10-inch infotainment system (up from 8 inches). As a result, the air-con vents have now shifted below the touchscreen, lending a cleaner look. Another small element that’s new is the rocker switch for the gear selector à la the Skoda Octavia, freeing up space in the lower central console. 

Citroen is always known for its focus on comfort and the carmaker has provided the 2022 C5 Aircross with updated seats. It now gets 15mm additional foaming and heating and ventilation as well. No changes are expected to be made underneath the hood. So you can expect the C5 to come with the 177PS 2-litre diesel engine, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. 

The Citroen C5 Aircross is currently priced from Rs 32.74 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and the facelift could command a premium. The premium SUV rivals the Jeep Compass, Volkswagen Tiguan, and the Hyundai Tucson.
