The German trio of Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi have enjoyed a good amount of success in 2023. With a solid start to this year, the overall numbers for the premium segment are expected to be record high in 2023. For reference, the highest numbers recorded in the luxury segment previously was back in 2018. With this in mind, let us take a look at the top luxury cars launched this year.
The BMW 7 Series and i7 are known for their opulence. The cars come with bold exterior styling, luxurious interiors, and a large curved display on the dashboard. That said, the main party trick is the 31.3-inch 8K display that swings down from the roof. To know more about the latest BMW 7 Series, read our detailed launch story.
The third-generation BMW X1 was launched in India very soon after the global debut. It is one of the most popular SUVs for the German carmaker and now comes with updated exteriors and new insides. Sadly, though, the petrol motor was downsized while the diesel was detuned. Thankfully, the iX1 gets a dual-motor setup and packs plenty of punch. The Q8 e-tron is Audi’s current flagship electric SUV available in two body styles - SUV and SUV-coupe (Sportback). It’s nothing but the facelifted e-tron SUV with a facelift and bigger battery packs. A point to note is that the Q8 e-tron is actually based on the Q5 platform with electric motors and hence, does not have the street cred like the regular Q8. Read more about the Audi Q8 e-tron here.
The EQE SUV is the brand’s third electric offering in India. It borrows design styling from the flagship electric SUV, the EQS SUV. The stand out bit, though, has to be the insides that look similar to other EQ models and feature the MBUX hyperscreen along with many tech and comfort-convenience features. The Mercedes-Benz GLC received a generational update. Launched earlier in August, the SUV comes with an updated exterior and interior design. Highlights include more stylish elements, feature-loaded interiors, and an updated battery resulting in a higher range. Read more about the Volvo C40 Recharge at this link.
The Q3 Sportback differs from the Q3 majorly in terms of exterior design. Lexus had showcased the fifth-gen RX at the 2023 Auto Expo, and launched it back in April.
