Today, one no longer has to compromise on features or safety when choosing a CNG model. Here are the top CNG offerings that have already been launched in India this year

With CNG becoming an increasingly popular choice, customers now have a wide range of choices when it comes to picking up eco-friendly offerings. Previously, factory-fitted CNG options were the forte of only select car models, and that too in selected variants. But all of that has changed now, with manufacturers offering CNG options in more models as well as feature-loaded variants. Here are the five best CNG models that went on sale in 2023.

Maruti Brezza

Maruti Brezza CNG

This popular sub-4m SUV, which is one of the few CNG offerings in its segment, comes with a 1.5-litre motor rated at 88PS and 121.5Nm in CNG mode. Some of the features on the Brezza CNG include a sunroof, cruise control, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, engine start-stop button, automatic climate control and alloy wheels.

Maruti is offering the Brezza CNG in three variants, with prices starting from Rs. 9,24,000. The company claimed-mileage is 25.51 km/kg.

Tata Altroz

Tata Altroz CNG

The 2023 Tata Altroz iCNG, launched this year, comes with a unique twin-cylinder technology. Compared to conventional single-tank layouts that occupy the full boot space, Tata has used two cylinders that allow the car to have usable boot space. Another clever instance is the spare tyre placement. The Altroz iCNG’s spare tyre is mounted under the car for added convenience.

The Grand Vitara’s twin, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, retails from Rs. 13.23 lakh - Rs 15.29 lakh. The ARAI range on both these is 26.6 km/kg.

Tata Punch

With a starting price of Rs. 7,09,900, the Punch is the latest Tata offering to come with CNG tech. Following the Altroz iCNG's lead, Tata has equipped the Punch with the same dual-cylinder technology.

Unlike the competition, Tata’s CNG offerings can start directly in CNG mode and don't require the first start in petrol and then switchover to CNG. Tata Punch iCNG is powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder unit that develops 73.4PS and 102Nm.
