It will likely launch in India this month

Just a few days after Hero officially teased the launch of the updated XPulse 200T, the design of the bike has been revealed on the marque’s El Salvador website. The roadster sports a bunch of cosmetic, as well as mechanical, upgrades.

In terms of appearance, the updated bike gets a slightly revised styling including a repositioned headlight, a new visor which is body-coloured, fork gaiters, a new belly pan and a simple grab rail at the rear.

While the current model gets a two-valve engine, the updated one will borrow the powertrain from its off-road-oriented twin, the XPulse 200 4V. The 199.6cc, four-valve, air-/oil-cooled engine makes 19.1PS and 17.35Nm in the go-anywhere machine and the outputs are likely to stay as is for the road-biased motorcycle.

When it comes to features, the bike continues to come with a fully digital LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.

The underpinnings remain the same as before, comprising a telescopic fork and dual shock absorber suspension setup along with discs at both ends for braking. That said, we hope that Hero tweaks the suspension as the current model’s setup is on the firmer side.

Currently, the Hero XPulse 200T bears a price tag of Rs 1,24,396 (ex-showroom Delhi) making it the most affordable 200cc bike in India. However, the updated model is likely to carry a premium of Rs 6,000 - Rs 7,000 over the current one. The only other alternative in the air-/oil-cooled naked segment is the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
