With so many customers shifting focus towards the EVs, the demand for the EVs has grown multifold. The Tiago EV is Tata’ entry-level electric vehicle for India. It is offered with two battery pack options: a 19.2kWh unit paired with an electric motor producing 61 PS and 110 Nm and a 24kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor delivering 75 PS and 115 Nm. It offers a claimed range of 250 km and 315 km, for the smaller and larger battery pack variants, respectively. It comes with a 7.2kW charger that can recharge the batteries in 3 hours 36 minutes, while it takes 8 hours 45 minutes to recharge with a 3.3kW charger. The DC fast charger provides the quickest charging which takes just 58 minutes to recharge from 10 to 80 percent.
The Tigor EV is the sedan version of the Tiago EV. It comes equipped with a 26kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor that produces 75PS and 170 Nm. With this setup, you get a claimed range of 315 km and the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in an hour using a DC fast charger.
The Punch EV comes with two powertrain options: a 25 kWh battery pack which is coupled with an electric motor making 82 PS and 114 Nm and a 35 kWh battery pack with an electric motor producing 122 PS and 190 Nm. The smaller battery pack delivers an ARAI-claimed range of 315 km, while the larger battery delivers a claimed range of 421 km. In just 56 minutes, it can charge from 10 to 80 percent using a 50 kW DC fast charger.
The Tata Nexon EV is currently Tata’s flagship EV, offered with two powertrain options. It comes with a 30 kWh battery and a 40.5kWh battery. The former is paired to an electric motor that puts out 129PS and 215 Nm and offers an ARAI-claimed range of 325 km. The larger battery pack is coupled with a more powerful electric motor, producing 143PS and 215 Nm. The long range setup offers an ARAI-claimed range of 465 km. A DC fast charger takes just 56 minutes to recharge the Nexon EV, irrespective of the variant.
Tata’s range of EVs start from the Tiago EV, priced from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 11.89 lakh (ex-showroom) to the Nexon EV, priced from Rs 14.49 lakh to Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Apart from these four EVs, Tata will be introducing more EVs in the near future, including the Harrier EV, Curvv EV, Sierra EV and the Avinya.
