Here’s How Many Two-wheelers Yamaha Sold In December 2022

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has released the two-wheeler sales data for December 2022, where Yamaha’s mild-hybrid scooter, the Fascino 125, made it to the top-ten list! Here’s how the rest of the bikemaker’s lineup fared:

Bikes:

The overall picture on the motorcycle side of things was a mixed bag. On the one hand, the MT-15 V2 recorded a massive 186 percent increase, while the FZ25 lineup (comprising both the FZ 25 and FZS 25) showed a marginal 16 percent increase.

But on the other hand, we had the R15 (both the V4 and S, based on the V3) slipping by 7.5 percent, and the FZ range (the FZ, FZ-S and FZ-X) showing a major decline, to the tune of 55.9 percent!

Scooters:

Now, as mentioned, the Ray ZR 125 was a big seller, with its sales going up from 6,525 in December 2021 to 9,763 in December 2022; a 49.62 percent increase. However, its more family-oriented sibling, the Fascino 125, showed a significant drop, the 3,623 units sold in December 2022 a sharp 58.5 percent loss from the 8,728 units sold in December 2021.

That said, we couldn’t find the sales numbers for Yamaha’s flagship sports scooter, the Aerox 155. 

Ultimately, though, big changes are in store for Yamaha. First of all, the bikemaker will soon launch its OBD 2-compliant MT-15. Moreover, it’s also mulling the launch of its big bikes, the MT-07 and MT-09, as well its Neo’s electric scooter.
