The 2023 iteration of the Hero Xtreme 160R is on the cusp of launch (June 14) and Hero MotoCorp has been drumming up the hype for the naked with multiple teasers on its social media. Here’s everything it gets, and everything we expect it to get.
The latest teaser of the upcoming bike gives a clearer look at its design, and it seems to get the same aggressive styling as the current model. However, a slightly more aggressive revision in some design elements can still be expected. Additionally, expect a few new shades, including the teased one which seems to be a glossy stealth black paint scheme.
By now we know that the updated bike will get a 4-valve engine instead of the current model's 2-valve unit. While the displacement could remain the same at 163cc (air-cooled unit), the power and torque figures are likely to get a small bump to offer better performance. It could also breathe a bit better and hence prove to be even sportier, and able to take on the likes of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar N160, and Suzuki Gixxer.
We expect the Hero Xtreme 160R’s digital console to now feature smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, like the XPulse 200 siblings. The current model already gets an LED headlight and taillight along with LED indicators, a segment-first feature.
Another major update on the upcoming streetfighter is the more premium USD fork, which should ideally result in a more sophisticated damping and riding experience. Apart from that, the monoshock, alloys and petal discs seem to have stayed the same as the current model. Hopefully, Hero includes dual-channel ABS and offers it as a variant.
With these updates, expect the updated Xtreme 160R to command a premium of around Rs 6,000 over the current (standard model), prices for which start at Rs 1.19 lakh.
