Hyundai has revealed the rear profile of the upcoming Exter.
It gets a rugged look with hefty cladding on the bumper.
H-shaped signature inside the taillights resemble the DRLs up front.
Hyundai Exter will launch on July 10, prices could start from Rs 6 lakh onwards.
Up until now, there were only a few spy shots suggesting what to expect design-wise from the rear end of the Hyundai Exter. But the last piece of the puzzle is in with the official disclosure of its rear profile – giving us a complete picture of the micro SUV ahead of its launch on July 10.
The styling at the rear of the Hyundai Exter mingles with the other beefy elements found on the car. The number plate housing, which looks like it has been sculpted, takes the centre stage at the rear. The taillights are squarish and have the same H-shaped motif found in the DRLs on the nose. The lights are connected by a thick garnished black strap, which also is the base for the Hyundai emblem.
The rear bumper has been given a proper muscular look, especially with the thick and bulky dual-tone cladding, which complements its squared-off wheel arches and even the heavy side sills. All in all, it’s a very boxy and rugged styling, just like that of its nemesis, the Tata Punch.
As for the rest of the car, we don’t have any details about its cabin layout, but we do know a few of the segment-first features that it’ll pack, along with its powertrain details, all of which can be found in our comprehensive all you need to know article.
The Hyundai Exter could be sold from around the Rs 6-lakh mark (ex-showroom) - similar to the Tata Punch. And while it’ll be a direct competitor to the Tata Punch, the Exter will offer a rugged alternative to the Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. Sub-4m SUVs like the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger can also be considered as alternatives.
