[UPDATE: Hero has launched the Karizma XMR in India. It looks muscular, attractive and packs a punch! Check it out here]
The legendary Karizma nameplate is making a comeback on August 29 with the launch of the Hero Karizma XMR. And now Hero MotoCorp has shared a couple of teasers of its upcoming motorcycle.
The new teaser confirms that the upcoming Karizma XMR will come with dual LED projector headlights surrounded by supplementary LED units. The headlight setup is surrounded by H-shaped DRLs on either side. The overall design is quite a major departure from the OG Karizma or even the Karizma ZMR for that matter. We’ll have to wait and see whether enthusiasts welcome this change.
The other teaser shows us a glimpse of the upcoming bike’s fairing. It has sharp design lines that flow cohesively towards the sides. The teaser then goes on to show the silhouette of the bike from the front.
We recently received an official invite from Hero and the device in it contained a teaser of the instrument console. It looks like a coloured LCD unit that will display average speed and fuel efficiency alongside other readings. The top speed of the upcoming Karizma might be 143kmph. Whew! Another teaser, you can see below, confirms that the upcoming motorcycle will get slipper and assist clutch.
Also, the teaser shared above confirms that the upcoming motorcycle will get a 210cc DOHC engine and will come equipped with dual-channel ABS. The instrument console seems to have a dot matrix inset that'll likely show turn-by-turn navigation and welcome messages upon switching on the motorcycle.
In another recent teaser shared by Hero MotoCorp, we got a glimpse of the sharp silhouette of the bike from the side and also got an exciting hint that it’ll be available in the 1st generation Karizma’s iconic yellow colour option. The upcoming motorcycle has been spied multiple times before, which gave us a fair idea of the bike’s styling.
The upcoming Karizma XMR will be powered by a brand-new 210cc liquid-cooled engine, which is a first for the manufacturer and will likely produce about 25PS and 20Nm. We also have an exclusive scoop on the bike’s chassis. Check it out here.
There’s also a contest on Hero MotoCorp’s social media handle where selected winners will get to meet the manufacturer’s brand ambassador, bollywood star Hrithik Roshan. The Hero Karizma XMR, after its launch on August 29, will be Hero’s flagship motorcycle and is expected to fetch a price tag of Rs 1.9 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. Its rivals will be the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250.
