A new sporty scooter has been spied in Jaipur, and it appears to be Hero’s upcoming sporty 125cc scooter, possibly called the Hero Xoom 125. It was spotted in Jaipur, and looks relatively sober compared to the design patent that had surfaced recently. We had already reported that Hero will be launching a 125cc version of Hero Xoom 110 later this year, and the spy shots confirm the brand’s plans.
While the apron looks muscular and sporty, the floorboard is pretty short, making the scooter look a little more compact than usual. The side panels are bulky yet muscular with numerous cuts and slashes. Interestingly, the wheels appear to be fairly large, presumably 14-inch units. The scooter also features sporty split grab rails, and a contoured single-piece seat. Since the indicators are LED units, it’s safe to assume the headlight and tail light could be LED units as well. The instrument cluster is likely to be a full-LCD unit, possibly with smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation.
Other notable elements include a telescopic fork with a front disc, apron-mounted cubby holes, rear monoshock, and a sleek exhaust. All in all, with the larger wheels and a sporty bodywork, the upcoming 125cc Hero scooter looks more of an Aprilia SR125 rival. Other notable competitors include the TVS NTorq 125, Suzuki Burgman Street, Honda Grazia and Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid.

Expect the upcoming Hero Xoom 125 to be priced at around Rs 90,000-95,000 (ex-showroom). It could be launched around December this year. With the Xoom 125, Hero will have one more shot at the sporty 125cc segment, something the Hero Maestro Edge 125 didn’t exactly manage to crack.
