Clear pictures of the upcoming Hero Xtreme 125R have been leaked ahead of its launch at the Hero World event on January 23, 2024, revealing some important details about the bike. The Xtreme 125R will be Hero MotoCorp’s take on the sporty 125cc segment, as the existing Hero Glamour Xtec is more of a sporty commuter.
The leaked images suggest that the Xtreme 125R will get an all-LED lighting setup, the headlight resembles Hero’s faired bike, the Xtreme 200S 4V. The bike comes with LED indicators, first in the air-cooled 125cc segment. It gets sharp fuel tank extensions and has angular side panels. The Xtreme 125R has a high tail section, the bike features a split seat setup with split grab rails. It also has a tyre hugger giving the bike a proper sporty look.
The Xtreme 125R is likely to get a digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, real-time mileage indicator, side stand sensor, speedometer, odometer, trip meter, service reminder and basic telltale lights. It could also get a USB charging port.
The Xtreme 125R is likely to get the same air-cooled 125cc engine as the Glamour Xtec and would produce the same output – 10.5PS and 10.4Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. However, the chassis is different from the Glamour Xtec and is possibly borrowed from the Xtreme 160R.
The images reveal that the Xtreme 125R will be equipped with a telescopic fork and a rear monoshock, expected with preload adjustability. The brakes are also borrowed from the Glamour Xtec, the Xtreme 125R is fitted with a 240mm disc at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear. The ABS sticker on the front fork reveals that Hero has equipped the Xtreme 125R with a single-channel ABS, first time in a 125cc air-cooled bike.
The Hero Xtreme 125R bike is likely to be priced at around Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom). It will rival the TVS Raider and Bajaj Pulsar NS 125.
Hero is all set to launch the Mavrick at the Hero World event on January 23. The manufacturer has been teasing the bike for a while now, the latest teaser reveals more details of the bike, suggesting that the 440cc bike will feature a metal tank and metal fenders. It will get a brushed metal finish on the side panels.
The previous teasers revealed the bike’s exhaust note, meter console and its silhouette through a design sketch. You can check out the story here.
Hero has discontinued the Maestro Edge 125. The 125cc scooter is likely to be replaced by the upcoming Hero Xoom 125, which could be launched at the Hero World event. Previously, Hero did the same with the Maestro Edge 110, which was replaced by the Xoom 110.
Hero could also showcase the Xoom 160 maxi scooter and the Hero 2.5R XTUNT concept at the Hero World on January 23, 2024. Both were unveiled at EICMA 2023.
