In recent months, Hyundai has been busy with its Exter micro SUV. After updating the micro SUV’s CNG variants and introducing a Knight edition with it, the Korean carmaker has now launched new S(O) + MT and S + AMT variants with the Exter. The new variants make the sunroof more accessible. Let’s take a look at the two new variants:
Price
We first take you through the prices of new variants with respect to the variants they are based on

As seen above, the new variants come at a premium of Rs 21,000 over the variants they are based on.
The new variants make the sunroof more affordable by Rs 37,000 in the manual lineup and by Rs 46,000 in the automatic lineup.
Features
The new Plus variants make the sunroof more accessible now. Other features of these variants include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital driver display, rear AC vents, all four power windows, cruise control and steering mounted audio controls.
In terms of safety, it gets 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-ascent control, ISOFIX child seat mount , 3-point seatbelts for all seats and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Powertrain
The new variants of the Exter are equipped with an 83 PS/ 114 Nm 1.2-litre petrol engine. With the S (O) + variant, the petrol engine comes with a 5-speed manual transmission, while in S+ variant, it comes with a 5-speed AMT transmission. The Exter also comes with a factory-fitted CNG kit, but that is not available with these new variants.
Rivals
The Exter is priced from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10.43 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and Maruti Ignis.
