You’ve seen the Exter’s exterior. You’ve even seen its interior through a set of leaked images. Today, Hyundai has officially unveiled the interior along with a few other crucial details of its upcoming micro SUV ahead of its July 10 launch. The Exter is Hyundai’s answer to the Tata Punch and will slot below the Venue in the Korean marque’s lineup.
The Exter SUV’s interior is exactly a xerox copy of the Aura and Grand i10 Nios’ cabin, which ain’t a bad thing at all. One form of differentiation comes in its colour scheme, where the micro SUV gets an all-black hue with splashes of green for contrast. The front seats also have bold ‘Exter’ branding, likely to remind you of the name of the micro SUV you’re sitting in!
The only change between the Exter and its hatchback sibling comes in the form of a digitised driver’s display instead of the Nios’ analogue dials with a multi-info display.
In typical Hyundai fashion, the Exter comes loaded to the gills with features. Highlights include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, a sunroof, cruise control, auto headlights and rain sensing wipers.
On the safety front, it gets six airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Hyundai also took this opportunity to reveal certain dimension figures of the Exter. Its wheelbase is rated at 2450mm while its height stands at 1631mm. These figures are better than the Punch by 5mm and 16mm respectively. Hyundai is yet to reveal the SUV’s length and width figures, though.
