It was in June this year when it was announced that the 2022 Hyundai Tucson would appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Disney+ series. Now, it’ll show up on the big screen in the upcoming Spider-Man flick, ‘No Way Home’. That’s not all; the Hyundai IONIQ 5 EV will also accompany the SUV in this promotional campaign.
The promo will include two separate 30-second spots, with the first one featuring the IONIQ 5. Here, it’ll have Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and his best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) undertake a 482km journey (to New York city) in the EV. It’s not only a smart mode for product placement but also a creative way to tell the world about the IONIQ 5’s range.
Another spot, with Tom Holland, will feature the Tucson.
This campaign continues a long liaison between Hyundai and Marvel that started with the Kona Iron Man Edition in 2017, and the Sante Fe and Veloster featuring in the 2018 ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ movie.

The new Tucson already makes a presence in its own right with sharp design cues, and modern features. It’s also been spotted testing in the country, and is likely to arrive here in 2022 at prices starting from Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The IONIQ 5 gets a silhouette inspired by the carmaker’s first production car, the Pony, comes equipped with a 306PS electric powertrain, and can go up to a WLTP-claimed range of 470-480km on a single charge.
You won’t have to wait too long to see these two Hyundai models on the big screen as ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ releases in theatres on December 15.
